      <image:title>Home - Meet Dr. Kulibert</image:title>
<image:caption>I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychological Science at Kennesaw State University (KSU) and an affiliated faculty member in the School of Conflict Management, Peacebuilding, and Development. I lead the Social Perceptions and Intergroup Relations Lab, where our research explores how people perceive different social groups and how these perceptions shape judgments and behaviors. Our work emphasizes diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, and often examines the impact of white supremacy systems in the United States on marginalized communities. Before joining KSU, I earned my Ph.D. in social psychology at Tulane University, where I worked with Dr. Laurie O’Brien. I also completed my M.S. and B.S. at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, collaborating with Dr. Anca Miron in the Social Psychology Lab and Dr. Ashley Thompson in the Sexuality and Relationship Science Lab. Outside of work, I live in Atlanta and enjoy exploring local restaurants and coffee shops, getting lost in a good book, and making jewelry. I’m a proud Wisconsinite—and I’ve been told my Midwestern accent is hard to miss (Ope!).</image:caption>

      <image:title>Home - Research Interests</image:title>
<image:caption>I am a feminist and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) scholar. My research focuses on understanding perceptions of social norms and intergroup relations. Broadly, I am interested in how various social identities and contextual factors shape the way people perceive prejudiced behaviors and acts of discrimination. I also study how recent political climates influence social interactions and intergroup relationships. Currently, my projects aim to understand: What factors influence when people label behaviors as sexual harassment How meta-stereotypes affect intergroup interactions Why people perceive certain political group members differently, and how these perceptions shape political behaviors When social psychology-based interventions effectively improve a sense of belonging among college students from marginalized groups I am deeply committed to open science, transparent research practices, and strong statistical methods. You can find my pre-registrations and study materials on my OSF page. In addition to my academic work, I have served as a statistical consultant for local, national, and international organizations for over ten years.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Teaching - Intro to Psychology</image:title>
<image:caption>Intro to Psychology is a common course for undergraduate students. In my intro to psychology courses, I try to apply all areas of psychology to real-life examples. I do this applying concepts from the course to pop culture and examples that are relevant to students. One of the most important lessons for students in my class is to understand that psychology is a science. To foster this understanding, I have students come up with research studies related to the class topics and think about how studies are created/conducted. We also engage in group discussions aimed at helping us think more like a scientist and understand how psychologists approach research questions.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Teaching - Social Psychology</image:title>
<image:caption>Social psychology is a popular course for psychology majors and minors. In my Social Psychology course, I help students understand social behaviors by applying social psychology theories and concepts to the real world. I want students to leave my class understanding how social psychology can help them understand the world around them. I use a variety of methods in my class to promote learning (e.g., group activities, flipped classroom, lecture-based classes, video examples, think/pair/share). I also think critical thinking and research method skills are key in understanding social psychology. To help students understand methods more, I incorporate research methods throughout the semester by having students read/critique articles and come up with their own study ideas to answer common social psychology questions. I know not all of my students will get a PhD in social psychology, but my goal is to help all students become a better consumer of science.</image:caption>
